Sliding door making noise.
If your sliding door is sticking or dragging along the tracks making a grinding noise the springs in the rollers could have become loose causing it to sag.
Slide the door open and closed to determine if the door squeaks at the top or at the bottom.
To clean and lubricate the hardware of a sliding closet door use a stiff brush a toothbrush or a hand vacuum to clean dust from the tracks.
As i ve previously mentioned one of the doors that were squeaking in my home was the sliding door that leads out into the back yard.
To fix this you can adjust the height of the rollers by the screws on the rollers.
The noises may get louder until the actuators eventually fail.
Because sliding doors don t fold out the way bifold doors do they allow access to only half the width of the opening at a time.
Use an aerosol lubricant to lubricate all the door rollers.
If the noise comes from the top the rollers are adjusted too high and the top of the door is.
Most of these door mechanisms are sealed with a rubber strip around the outer edges that keeps out heat cold and excess noise.
Ironically these rubber seals can often be the cause of excess noise when your doors begin to show their age.
However if the noise suddenly becomes louder or more pronounced then this may be an indicator that the gears or motor are becoming worn out.
Your door is old and worn out.
Most power door locks operate using gears or motors that may quietly whir or make noise when they operate.
Only a few things are more annoying than a door making noise and getting stuck all the time.
But regular hinge doors aren t the only kind of door that can start making noise.
